It details various models, from the vintage-inspired Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser to the luxurious Airstream Atlas, emphasizing their unique features, such as advanced kitchen setups, spacious bathrooms, and ample storage solutions. The article also covers high-end and budget-friendly options, ensuring a suitable choice for different preferences and needs.
Each trailer is described with specific features, providing potential buyers with comprehensive information to make an informed decision.
Envision a compact travel trailer, its slide-outs cleverly expanding into a surprisingly spacious living space. Within this compact marvel, you move freely, unhindered by traditional mobile home constraints. As evening falls, a Murphy bed emerges, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploration.
This is more than a trailer—it’s a testament to engineering, comfort, and adventure. It embodies the freedom of the open road and the bliss of nomadic living. Experience the future of travel, where comfort meets convenience in an ingeniously designed package.
Murphy beds or wall beds are space-saving designs suitable for RVs. The bed closes against the wall, keeping the RV spacious during the day.
If you often travel with kids or friends, extra space on board is best. Let’s look at the best trailers with Murphy Bed’s new and used models.
1. Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser 19MBS
The Gulf Stream cruiser definitely has a vintage vibe, but it’s equipped with every modern amenity. You will like the huge Murphy bed that sits at the front of this cruiser and converts into a jackknife sofa.
Due to the overhead storage, the cruiser has plenty of space for storing toiletries and food. There are wardrobes and a cabinet for keeping all your clothes and cosmetics if you have a vacuum cleaner that goes under the bed.
The kitchen is at the back of the trailer. It is perfectly finished and boasts a wood-grain design.
If you have friends with you, use the cooktop with three burners to whip up a delicious meal for the party.
The kitchen also has a refrigerator, microwave, and countertop space for preparing food. The dinette converts into a comfy bed if you need more sleeping space.
Moreover, there’s a TV unit to binge Netflix while chilling on the Murphy bed if you’re too bored of the indoors, head to the power awning for shade.
Features
- Six gallons water heater
- 20,000BTUs furnace
- 83 inches interior height
- 10 feet 2 inches exterior height
- 23 feet 2 inches in length
- 7 feet 6 inches width
- 2 x 20 lbs. LP tank
- 33 gallons of gray wastewater capacity
- 27 gallons of fresh water capacity
- 3,192 lbs. dry weight
2. Forest River Salem FSX 290RTK Toy Hauler Travel Trailer
The Forest River toy hauler is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a huge and functional travel trailer. First, let’s talk about the Murphy bed. The trailer has a queen-sized bed right in the front.
Although there isn’t a wall separating it from the lounge, the area is supposed to be the master suite. Now, I wouldn’t mind the lack of privacy due to the absence of a wall, but if it irks you, maybe try another option.
Moving forward, you’ll reach the rear end through the kitchen and sitting area. Two more beds are placed here, making the trailer suitable for sleeping up to six people.
Nothing says modern like a beautifully designed shower. The trailer’s fiberglass shower has a skylight that lets you feel the real spirit of being outdoors.
The kitchen has a convection microwave, allowing you to cook anything. Once the meal is ready, enjoy it on the U-shaped dinette, placed conveniently next to the kitchen.
If Saturday barbecue nights are a family tradition or you love to jam to your Spotify playlists, you’re lucky; the ramp door converts into a party patio for all your outdoor activities.
Features
- 1220 lbs. hitch weight
- 36 feet 6 inches exterior length
- 10 feet 6 inches exterior height
- 96 inches exterior width
- 21 feet awning size
- 54 gallons of fresh water
- 40 gallons of gray water
- 7,743 lbs. gross vehicle weight
3. Jayco Seismic Luxury Series Toy Hauler
I don’t want to fill this list with toy haulers, but I couldn’t resist since it is Jayco. The Octane Super Lite is about 38 feet long, perfect for larger families or friend groups.
Walking into the hauler, you first spot the Murphy bed disguised as a sofa for watching TV. It gets better; the sofa cum Murphy bed is surrounded by two large windows, giving you a sweet view of the scenery outside.
Apart from this extra sleeping space, the dinette, which converts into a bed, has more room for another person.
Besides, the kitchen is pretty impressive. It has a two-burner cooktop, overhead cabinets for kitchen accessories, a refrigerator, and a convection microwave—like a kitchen in a small apartment.
The main lounge has a bathroom beside the kitchen with an angled shower and a linen closet.
You’ll appreciate the screen door if you like sitting outside for your morning coffee and the insects keep bugging you (pun intended). Pull it down and open the 7-foot ramp to enjoy the morning sun while keeping the insects and birds out.
Features
- 1135 lbs. hitch weight
- 11,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight
- 6 gallons water heater
- 4 gallons of gray wastewater
- 4 gallons of black wastewater
- 87 inches interior height
- 102 inches exterior width
- 37 feet 11 inches exterior length
- 96 gallons freshwater capacity
4. The Airstream Atlas
Filled with luxurious amenities, everything in the Airstream Atlas screams class and comfort. Despite being the first Airstream trailer with a Murphy bed, the Atlas is marvelously designed to create sufficient space.
Plus, you don’t even have to pull the bed down manually. Simply press a button, and it will be ready for you to sleep on. Airstream partnered with Mercedes Benz, and that’s why the motorhome has a Benz chassis with ultimate sleekness.
At the rear of the trailer, a huge bathroom is hidden behind a sliding door. Upon opening it, you’ll be greeted with a closet, shower, porcelain toilet, and vanity.
More importantly, it has LED lighting and Kohler faucets, so there’s nothing to complain about.
In the sitting area, a Samsung Smart TV hides in the entertainment cabinet, keeping the motorhome looking spacious.
It’s not the most budget-friendly option, costing around $230,000, but it provides luxury that’s hard to find on the road. I’ve discussed them below if you’d instead opt for an Atlas alternative.
Features
- 24 feet 9 inches exterior length
- 10 feet 6 inches exterior height
- 8 feet 3 inches width
- 6 feet 6 inches interior height
- 23 gallons fresh water capacity
- 31 gallons gray water capacity
- 23 gallons of black water capacity
- Mercedes-Benz® 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine
- 16,000 BTU furnace
- Mercedes-Benz® Adaptive ESP® chassis safety system
5. Sonic SN211VDB Travel Trailer
While most campers have a single sofa that converts into a Murphy bed, the Sonic travel trailer has two sofas.
One is a sofa, while the other is a Murphy bed measuring 60 by 70 inches.
If you like some privacy when traveling with family, this camper will be suitable. Its accordion door separates the bedroom from the living area, giving you much-needed privacy.
Furthermore, it has an entertainment center with everything you need to kill boredom. The kitchen has a double-burner cooktop and a refrigerator, with spacious countertops to keep all your supplies.
One of my favorite things about this trailer is the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. If you’re anything like me, you must bring tons of toiletries along, and bathroom storage is an uncompromising necessity.
Also, the bathroom has a shower, measuring 34 inches, and a sink.
Features
- 4000 lbs. unloaded vehicle weight
- 300 lbs. dry hitch weight
- 82 inches interior height
- 10 feet 4 inches exterior height
- 90 inches exterior width
- 23 feet 4 inches exterior length
- 39 gallons fresh water capacity
- 30 gallons black water capacity
- 30 gallons gray water capacity
- 40 lbs. LP Gas
- 20,000 BTUs furnace
6. Tiffin Motorhomes Wayfarer 24 FW
While the Murphy bed in most motorhomes is right in front of the trailer, it’s across the bathroom in the Tiffin Wayfarer. The bed also folds into a huge desk that can be used for dining or working.
Like the Airstream Atlas, this trailer boasts a Mercedes chassis, giving it a sleek and high-end look. I’m not a huge fan of the huge price spike this brings, but if it’s your cup of tea, by all means, take this trailer for a ride.
The trailer has the living area in the front and the kitchen in the center. The kitchen has an oven, a microwave, and a 2-burner stovetop.
Also, there’s an accordion door that keeps the master bedroom separate from the rest of the space, providing extra privacy. Overall, it’s a roomy RV.
Features
- 25 feet length
- 90 inches width
- 80 inches interior height
- 36 gallons of water capacity
- 35 gallons fresh water capacity
- 23 gallons gray water capacity
- 5000 lbs. hitch weight
- 24.5 gallons fuel capacity
- 11,030 lbs. gross vehicle weight
7. Forest River Rockwood 2509s Mini Lite
As you walk into the trailer, the first thing you see is a Murphy bed that converts into a couch during the day. This makes the space roomy enough for your additional gadgets, workout equipment, or accessories.
Two large windows on both sides of the bed let you enjoy the scenic views outside. The bedsides have two wardrobes and nightstands, so there’s no issue with storage.
The peninsula-style kitchen has enough space to prepare food conveniently, while the three-burner cooktop allows two people to cook at once. Plus, the overhead cabinet houses all your food for the trip.
Moreover, it features a slide-out dinette with carpeted floors. But the highlight of this motorhome is the gas grill, which is conveniently placed outside under the awning.
In the bathroom, there’s a huge shower cabin and a linen closet. Thus, you have everything you need to feel at home.
Features
- 625 lbs. hitch weight
- 5,471 lbs. vehicle weight
- 25 feet 11 inches exterior length
- 10 feet 11 inches exterior height
- 96 inches exterior width
- 58 gallons fresh water capacity
- 30 gallons gray water capacity
- 30 gallons black water capacity
- 19 feet awning size
8. Forest River RV Salem Cruise Lite 171RBXL
Although the Salem Cruise is small, measuring about 22 feet, it is spacious inside, thanks to the Murphy bed. The 60 by 74 inches Murphy bed allows two people to sleep and folds into a 56-inch sofa.
This trailer’s floor plan is enough to tell you that experts design it. It has ample storage space under the tables, in the linen closet, bedroom closets, and the overhead cabinets.
The bed has end tables on both sides, so you can conveniently place your drink or snacks while watching TV. Also, there’s a 10-foot awning for all your outdoor fun activities.
In the kitchen, there is a three-burner stove and a refrigerator. However, the countertop space is a bit smaller than that of other motorhomes on this list.
But I wouldn’t worry much about that, as there’s a U-shaped dinette right across the kitchen for prepping food and dining.
You’ll find the radius shower with a sink to its side and the toilet across it on the extreme corner of the trailer.
Features
- 521 lbs. hitch weight
- 3,836 lbs. vehicle weight
- 22 feet 5 inches exterior length
- 10 feet 1-inch exterior height
- 96 inches exterior width
- 38 gallons fresh water capacity
- 30 gallons gray water capacity
- 30 gallons black water capacity
- 10 feet awning size
9. Keystone RV Passport
If you’re looking for a trailer with a Murphy bed and slide-out that’s also easy to tow, this is the one. Weighing around 3,930 lbs, the trailer will weigh about 4,600 when it’s full, making it easy for most trucks to tow it.
On the inside, the trailer is quite spacious due to the presence of the Murphy bed cum sofa. When the bed is out of the way, you’re left with a couch with plenty of entry space.
The Murphy bed has wardrobes on both sides, creating ample space to keep your clothes or equipment.
As you move forward, you reach the kitchen with a U-shaped dinette that fits many people. If necessary, you can expand it to create more sleeping space.
It’s the only motorhome on my list with a tub. If you’re a shower person, don’t worry—there’s a shower, too. The bathroom also has a toilet, sink, and wardrobe for your towels and toiletries.
Across the dinette is the kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. In the center, there’s plenty of room for kids to play or for you to work out. The TV unit is also easily visible from the sofa and the dinette.
The trailer is an excellent purchase with all these features and a 14-foot awning.
Features
- 425 lbs. hitch weight
- 22 feet 9 inches length
- 10 feet 4 inches height
- 43 gallons fresh water capacity
- 30 gallons gray water capacity
- 30 gallons black water capacity
- 1,253 lbs. carrying capacity
- 4,147 lbs. shipping weight
- LED interior lights
- 30,000 BTUs furnace
10. Grand Design Imagine XLS
Last is the Grand Design Imagine, which truly lives up to the company’s name, offering grandeur in every form. This motorhome is suitable for intimate traveling, as there are no bunks to bring along extra people.
Let’s discuss what we’re here for: the Murphy bed. Acting as a couch during the day, the bed is placed conveniently in front of the TV unit, making entertainment easily accessible.
On both sides of the bed, you’ll see mirrored wardrobes, which are hard to find in most motorhomes. I have to admit, there’s something about mirrors that makes any space look bigger than it actually is.
Although not too big, the kitchen has everything of need, ranging from the refrigerator to the microwave. Unlike most campers, the dinette is at the rear end rather than across the kitchen. Here, you can sit while dining or doing work on the go.
The bathroom has a large sink for your beauty products, while the linen closet houses the towels. It is equipped with features exuding luxury.
Features
- 4,210 lbs. vehicle weight
- 426 lbs. hitch height
- 23 feet 6 inches in length
- 10 feet 5 inches height
- 43 gallons fresh water capacity
- 39 gallons gray water capacity
- 37 gallons of wastewater capacity
- 25,000 BTUs furnace
- 16 feet awning length
