Fitting UTV in a Trailer

You’re probably wondering how tall your UTV should be to perfectly fit in a trailer. Most of them usually have just one seat row, and they can easily fit in trailers that are 5 foot by 12 foot.

Some important questions that you need to answer before picking a trailer are: can you get in and out of the trailer comfortably? And will there be enough space? You need to have that extra space so that you can move around easily.

So, just to be safe, I would recommend buying a large trailer preferably around 14 to 16 feet long.

Some people even like to carry two UTVs together. In order for them to do that, they would need a 22-feet trailer.

Moreover, do keep in mind that you don’t only need room for the vehicles but also for the supplies and tools. A good-sized trailer with extra space can be around 80 inches wide.

A Note for Tall People

Usually, UTVs are shorter in height; some are extremely tight and may even lack the necessary leg space. If you are taller than 6’5, then you might require some heavy modifications. The good thing is that most people will not face any problems when it comes to the height of the UTV since the average human height comes below the 6’5 mark.

Tall people usually come up with their own modifications, and companies rarely design anything specifically for them.

Top 10 UTVs That Can Fit In A Toy Hauler

Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo

  • Height: 65.4 inches
  • Width: 64 inches
  • Length: 132 inches
  • Weight: 1,470 lbs

This model of Can-Am has a shorter height, but it is fast, with a top speed of 80 MPH, which is quite speedy for a UTV. This vehicle was designed for speed and has plenty of legroom; hence your legs will not bump into the dashboard.

The feature that stands out for me here is the speed despite the large size. Vehicles of this size rarely go as high as 80 MPH, so this is a good addition. The terrain is usually rugged when you go camping, but having a bit more speed is not a bad idea.

Can-Am Maverick Sport MAX DPS

  • Height: 76.2 inches
  • Width: 60 inches
  • Length: 149 inches
  • Weight: 1,697 lbs

This model is quite spacious: it can accommodate four adults. Since it’s a two-row UTV, you will need a slightly larger toy hauler, preferably one with a length of 14-16 feet. This is a  really well-balanced automobile with a wheelbase of 120.

Sport MAX DPS has Double A-arms & sway bars to support its movement and also offer you a smooth ride if you encounter rough terrain.

Recently Can-AM has upgraded the Sport Max DPS model by adding turbocharging, this will allow the vehicle to get up to speed. Even at such an extreme pace, you won’t need to worry about the engine heating up as it will cool down by running optimally.

Can-Am Commander Limited

  • Height: 72 inches
  • Width: 62.5 inches
  • Length: 120.2 inches
  • Weight: 1,291 lbs

This is a limited edition model. It is equipped with a powerful 8-Valve Rotax 976 cc V-twin engine. No doubt that the commander limited packs a powerful punch, and it also comes with electronic fuel injection and Can-Am’s signature intelligent throttle control.

These features allow the vehicle to perform well on different terrains. There is also a half windshield that curves outward from the top and keeps the debris away from your face.

This model, unlike other designs, has two cargo boxes, and the cargo area can carry up to 600 lbs.

This version of the Can-Am UTV has nets instead of doors, which I am not a huge fan of. But it does come with a half windshield, which I feel is a good addition.

The addition of extra storage is also a big plus and which is why I will highly recommend Can-Am Commander Light.

Polaris General 4 1000

  • Height: 74 inches
  • Width: 62.5 inches
  • Length: 150.2  inches
  • Weight: 1,857 lbs

This model is also a four-seater, and it comes with a strong suspension that offers the stability needed to move on rocky terrain. It has a horsepower of 100 and is durable. Though the vehicle is not very tall, you can still easily fit in 4 people.

The cargo box in the back is huge, with a capacity of 1,280. Therefore, you can easily put all of your camping gear in there.

I would’ve loved Polaris General to be slightly taller, but that is not a problem; you should still be able to fit four people in it.

Again the storage stands out, you can literally put all the camping gear you have in the back. This vehicle will take you and your friends anywhere.

Arctic Cat Wildcat XX

  • Height: 68 inches
  • Width: 64 inches
  • Length: 136  inches
  • Weight: 1,816 lbs

This vehicle has the largest and the most ergonomic cab in its class. It is comfortable and compact, due to its size it can easily fit in a trailer that is less than 7 feet long.

The shocks installed in this vehicle are world-clas. Most UTVs struggle on sharp turns but not Wildcat XX. The front suspensions allow the UTV to take a smooth turn.

This vehicle has 14 inches of ground clearance and 18 inches of front-rear. You can easily drive almost anything with this model.

Yamaha YXZ1000R SE

  • Height: 69.8 inches
  • Width: 64 inches
  • Length: 123.9  inches
  • Weight: 1,561 lbs

YXZ1000R SE has a strong pickup and powerful three-cylinder engine. It comes with FOX 2.5 Podium RC2 shocks that are adjustable on all four sides. The shocks installed in this model are usually designed for sports vehicles.

You can trust these vehicles on rocky terrain because they are really well made. The seats have a lot of detail as well, they are extra high so that even tall people can fit in and have a lot of legroom.

The seats are very comfortable and offer you a smooth drive.

HONDA Pioneer 1000 EPS

  • Height: 76 inches
  • Width: 63  inches
  • Length: 116.8  inches
  • Weight: 1,538 lbs

Honda has come with a powerful design with a lot of cool features. The vehicle is fitted with a brake-traction system, this system optimizes and creates a really good driving experience.

With the help of optimized control, driving on rugged roads becomes a lot smoother. A front differential locking system is also installed. This feature allows your wheels to move even if one gets stuck in the mud. I think Honda has done a great job by adding these features.

The engine is also very powerful, it is a 999cc twin-cylinder engine, and it is backed up with the necessary horsepower to get you through any terrain.

In my opinion, it has all the things that make a reliable UTV.

Yamaha Viking VI EPS Ranch Edition

  • Height: 76.6 inches
  • Width: 64 inches
  • Length: 159.5  inches
  • Weight: 1,761 lbs

Yamaha has come with another quality vehicle, this model is the best choice not only for camping but also for a family farm business, but why? Well, the answer is simple it has six seats, so you can carry quite a lot of load.

This automotive is long, so carrying it around will require a slightly large trailer. The engine is 686cc with low-end power, you might need a large-capacity air intake to help the engine create more power.

The power this vehicle can create is strong, it might not be the fastest UTV out there but it certainly is one of the most powerful ones.

Most people will buy a large trailer if they plan to take UTVs with them on a camping trip. I know not everyone has a large trailer, but this design by Yamaha is truly remarkable, so if you can get a bigger trailer, then you should get one.

Arctic Cat Prowler Pro

  • Height: 74 inches
  • Width: 63 inches
  • Length: 126 inches
  • Weight: 1,585 lbs

Arctic Cat Prowler Pro is a utility vehicle, and one of its biggest plus points is the noise-reducing design it has. Automotives can be extremely loud. People who are trying to have conversations are just unable to have one, so this a much-needed addition.

The storage is also plentiful, with storage spots behind the bench and storage boxes that can fit in the back.

There are also a lot of accessories that you can customize, such as lights, doors, windshields, and winches.

John Deere Gator RSX60M

  • Height: 73.5 inches
  • Width: 56.5 inches
  • Length: 115 inches
  • Weight: 1,218 lbs

John Deere has manufactured a high-performance UTV called the Gator RSX60M. This model has been created to function as a car, especially when it comes to suspension. The handling is first class, takes turns really smoothly, and responds without creating a whole lot of fuss.

The top speed this vehicle reaches is about 60 MPH, the engine is good and is placed under seats so that there is a better center of gravity.

This vehicle might lack pace, but it won’t breakdown so easily and will stay with you for a long time.

Takeaway

People who enjoy doing camping like things to be more compact and easy-to-use. A toy hauler is not an easy thing to maneuver around, and honestly, a UTV is not the only thing you take with you when you go on a camping trip.

Obviously, there are other supplies and camping gear, so space is scarce, and you try to fit in everything in the trailer. The problem is, you might not be able to fit everything in the trailer and that could force you to take a few things with you on the trip.

With the list I’ve compiled, you will find a model that suits your needs, and you will be easily able to find a UTV that suits your needs.

Features of these automobiles are remarkable, each one comes with something unique, you can customize some models as well.

Most of the designs that I have mentioned are powerful and fast, so they are impressive vehicles, and they will not let you down.
