The small size of Hawaii makes it perfect for an RV exploration. Not only that, but you have a wide array of beach campgrounds and national state parks to visit and stay at.

Bringing your RV here isn’t practical though, so you will need to rent one on the spot!

Where To Rent An RV In Hawaii?

There are only around a dozen local dealers where you can rent an RV from. However, given the small size of Hawaii and how spread out the RV dealers are here, it’s pretty easy to find an RV throughout the state.

When it comes to popular online rental platforms, Hawaii is a little limited as well. RVshare, for example, had just about 20 listings as of early November 2019. Outdoorsy, on the other hand, was a little better with a little over 200 listings, which should be more than enough even for the most demanding RVers.

RV Campgrounds & National Parks In Hawaii

Hawaii is small yet has a good number of seafront campgrounds. Besides, thanks to the small size of the state, it’s easy to find a campground that’s close to Hawaii’s major attractions.

Among the most popular RV campgrounds in Hawaii are:

  • Isaac Hale Beach Park.
  • Mahukona Beach Park.
  • Ho’okena Beach Park.
  • Kalopa State Recreation Area.
  • Hedonisia Hawaii Eco-Community.
  • Punalu’u Black Sand Beach Park.
  • Kulanaokuaiki Campground.
  • Namaknipaio Campground.
  • Whittington Beach Park.
  • Spencer Beach Park.

As for national parks, there are 2 that you may explore in an RV. One is Haleakala National Park with its 30,000 acres of land, including craters, deserts, and waterfall. The other is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is home to the active Kilauea Volcano.

Popular Tourist Attractions In Hawaii

Tourist attractions in Hawaii are mostly connected with the beauty of nature. A particularly popular attraction is Waikiki Beach, a site that has a historic trail made with surfboards. You also have the Maui Ocean Center and Princeville Botanical Gardens where you may spend a great time with your family.

Events In Hawaii

Be sure to attend an authentic luau (traditional Hawaiian party) at Kilohana Plantation or Sheraton Resort.

If you are interested in sports, then you may watch the Ironman Triathlon Championship on the Big Island or the Honolulu Marathon on Oahu. Besides, you may check out college football and basketball teams. There are no professional sports teams in Hawaii, but college tournaments are often no less exciting to watch,
