7 Best Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens
An outdoor kitchen in a travel trailer may seem unnecessary. Why have a second kitchen if you have one inside?
Believe us, some people would really like to have an outdoor kitchen, especially those who cook outdoors a lot. It would be much less convenient to hop inside the RV every time you needed something, right?
Travel trailers with outdoor kitchens are going to be today’s topic. We picked 7 models to showcase today. If you really like RV stuff, then maybe you’ll find something to geek out over on our list!
Top Travel Trailers with Outdoor Kitchens
1. Coachmen Freedom Express Liberty Edition 324RLDSLE
Of most interest to us, today is this floorplan’s outdoor kitchen. In this particular floorplan, it includes an overhead cabinet along with a compact refrigerator and a grill station. It would be good if it also had an outdoor cooktop, but its setup should be pretty convenient as-is.
From a higher-end travel trailer, one would obviously expect comfort. And this RV seems to really deliver on it. When you look at the 324RLDSLE floorplan, the first thing to catch the eye is the roomy entertainment area fit with two sofas (one theater seating and the other hide-a-bed) and an entertainment center.
The interior kitchen and dining area are quite roomy as well. Their equipment is pretty standard: this floorplan comes with an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator, a 3-burner burner cooktop, a microwave, a separate countertop with a sink, as well as a dinette.
The bedroom area in this travel trailer is remarkable though. In most travel trailers, the bedroom is rather restricted, and there is not much free room left in them. In this travel trailer, the bedroom is pretty large, which allows it to comfortably fit a 60 x 80-inch queen bed along with a wardrobe and still have plenty of room left.
And while this travel trailer comes quite equipped out of the dealership, there are some crucial items that it doesn’t come with. Namely, a 15,000 BTU AC unit along with 50A service are options that need to be purchased separately.
2. Jayco Jay Flight
Jayco 2023 Jay Flight is a middle-end travel trailer, but it still surprised us with a couple of features.
First of all, its outside kitchen boasts a 2-burner cooktop, a sink, as well as a refrigerator. And there is also a grill available as an option, which could make Jay Flight perfect for outdoor cooking.
The second notable thing about this travel trailer is the amount of sleeping space it has. Aside from an 80-inch queen bed, this travel trailer has a couple of bunk beds (4 bunk beds overall) in the front end of the RV. When you add this all up, you get 6 sleeps.
In addition, the bedroom in this travel trailer is no less roomy than in Coachmen Freedom Express Liberty Edition RV, although the wardrobe space in Jayco’s trailer is smaller.
The kitchen & dining area also appears to be pretty convenient in this travel trailer. It has a large U-dinette, a 3-burner cooktop, a microwave, an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator, and a countertop with a double sink.
The entertainment area is a bit limited in this floorplan though. It has got only one sofa, and the area dedicated to it is also smaller.
What we also like about this travel trailer is the variety of equipment included in it. Among the most notable items are a 13,500 BTU AC, an outside shower, a solar prep, 30A service, and whatnot. But what we’d also like to see in this trailer is a furnace for winter traveling.
3. Forest River Wildcat 247rkx
Forest River Wildcat is yet another middle-end travel trailer on our list. It has plenty of similarities with Jayco Jay Flight RV we’ve just examined, but let’s talk about the differences.
The sleeping space is the first difference in this travel trailer. Wildcat 247rkx has only one double bunk bed, while Jayco’s trailer had two. Paired with the queen-size bed, this makes for sleeping space for 4 people.
Speaking of sleeping space, the bedroom in this travel trailer is a bit restricted when compared to the bedrooms in the previous two RVs. This is actually what you are going to see in most travel trailers. But in spite of that, the bedroom still has a couple of shirt closets.
This travel trailer is also a bit shorter than Jayco RV – 33 feet versus 35 feet 10 inches – due to which its layout is a bit more cramped.
And what should also be noted is that Forest River ships this RV only to Midwest US, though some dealers may ship it to the rest of the US as well.
Now that we are done with the notable differences, let’s move on to Wildcat 247rkx’s important features.
First off, it has an outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator, a 2-burner cooktop, as well as a sink. Unlike Jayco’s trailer, there are no grill options available for this RV.
The kitchen & dining area in this travel trailer are pretty standard. Wildcat 247rkx has an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator, a cooking range, a microwave, and a two-sink counter. As for the dining area, it is equipped with a roomy dinette.
The options for this travel trailer are notable as well. Forest River offers a 15,000 BTU ducted AC, 50A service, a 35,000 BTU furnace, a second bedroom AC, and many other items. So in terms of upgradeability, it seems that this trailer is pretty good.
4. Dutchmen Aerolite 2733RB
Dutchmen Aerolite 2733RB is a cheaper middle-end travel trailer. There are some things that are going to lack in this RV, but it has things to compensate for it with.
Measuring 31 feet 5 inches long, Aerolite 2733RB is a bit shorter than the previous three trailers we examined, so its layout is going to be a bit more cramped.
But interestingly, Dutchmen still managed to fit a pretty large bathroom in this travel trailer. It nearly occupies the entire width of the trailer’s rear, so it has plenty of room in it. The bathroom in this RV is far more convenient than in most other travel trailers out there.
The outdoor kitchen in this travel trailer is pretty standard: it comes with a 3 cu. ft. refrigerator, an overhead cabinet, as well as a 2-burner cooktop. The only other thing it could also have is a sink.
Aside from those basic amenities, you are going to see in most RVs, there are some other things notable in this travel trailer that we’d like to talk about.
The first thing is the IN-Command remote operating system. Equipped with a touchscreen, it allows you to control most of the stuff installed in the RV like heating or lighting. In addition, this remote operating system can be managed via a mobile app. So basically, Dutchmen Aerolite travel trailer has smart home functionality.
Aerolite 2733RB also comes with electric stabilizer jacks and a power tongue jack. In most RVs, these are only available as options. But here, Dutchmen includes them in this travel trailer’s mandatory base package.
Speaking of packages, this travel trailer comes with things like a 13,500 BTU AC, a glass fireplace, a 3-burner cooktop, an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator, 50A service, a LED TV, and many other things. So it is pretty equipped out of the dealership.
5. Palomino Solaire Ultra Lite 258RBSS
Being quite similar to Dutchmen Aerolite 2733RB, Palomino Solaire pushes the convenience of showering a bit further. This RV’s bathroom is likewise situated in the rear end, occupying most of its width.
However, Solaire Ultra Lite travel trailer is equipped with a slightly larger 30 x 48-inch shower, so it is going to be a bit more convenient. And a nice little touch to the shower is its integrated seat, which may make showering easier for some people.
Another difference lies in the bedroom. In Solaire Ultra Lite travel trailer, the bedroom is smaller and a bit more restricted than in Aerolite trailer. This RV is about 1 foot longer than Aerolite 2733RB, but its length is occupied more by the living & kitchen area, which is why the bedroom is smaller.
While the living & kitchen compartment is a bit roomier, it is equipped with basically the same kind of amenities as the Aerolite travel trailer. Those include a microwave, a refrigerator, a cooktop, a dinette, a sofa sleeper, and an entertainment center.
The outdoor kitchen in this model is a bit more limited though since it comes only with a refrigerator and a sink. In terms of cooking, it definitely isn’t the best on the list.
And we can’t say much about the optional packages available for this travel trailer. It appears that Palomino RV didn’t really bother to put a comprehensive list on their website. But it most likely has about the same options available as the other travel trailers on the list.
6. Winnebago Minnie
Winnebago Minnie is the first travel trailer on our list that is shorter than 30 feet. 27 feet 11 inches long, it is pretty light and compact RV, albeit it isn’t the smallest model on the list.
Not everybody’s cars are able to tow over 10,000 pounds behind. But with Minnie, you won’t have to have a powerful car since it has a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,000 pounds. This travel trailer is thereby more forgiving on the towing vehicle.
On the other hand, this travel trailer obviously is going to be much more constrained than its larger alternatives. It still has all the basic amenities included, but it won’t deliver as much comfort.
But what’s more important for us today is that this travel trailer has a pull-out cooktop with a 2-burner range and a sink. Next to the pull-out cooktop is a compact exterior refrigerator. So yeah, one would get everything necessary from this RV’s outside kitchen.
The wide bunk bed area in the rear should also be noted. The bunks occupy over half of the trailer’s width. If we were to guess, we’d say that the bunks are around 60 inches wide, which is plenty for an RV bunk.
What Winnebago is always good at is travel trailer equipment. In spite of its size, Minnie comes with plenty of stuff, like a 25,000 BTU furnace, a 13,500 BTU AC unit, LED TV, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen.
7. Jayco 2023 Jay Feather
We decided to close off our list with a very compact travel trailer.
The 23 feet 9-inch Jay Feather 20BH is the shortest and lightest RV model on the list. With a gross vehicle weight rating of 5,500 pounds, this travel trailer would be suitable for buyers who have very limited towing power. And also those who don’t need too much comfort.
We can’t say that Jay Feather 20BH isn’t comfortable though. It is just more limited compared to all the other RVs on the list in terms of free room.
It has all the amenities one would want from a travel trailer, including a fully-equipped kitchen, a dinette, an entertainment center, and a bathroom. But the thing is that the scale of things is more limited in this travel trailer.
Interestingly, Jayco found enough free room for 39 x 74-inch bunk beds in this floorplan. Paired with the queen-size bed, this makes for 4 sleepers in this travel trailer, which makes this model suitable for family trips.

But what’s more important to us today is that this travel trailer comes with an outside kitchen. The not so good thing about this kitchen is that it is limited to just a sink and a fridge. It has no cooktops, though there is a grill available as an option.
And speaking of options, Jay Feather 20BH is very similar to Jayco 2020 Jay Flight 31QBDS we examined earlier. It comes with the same things like 30A service and a 13,500 BTU AC. And the extensions are also pretty similar, so one could upgrade this trailer quite a bit.
