We have reviewed several different portable solar brands in the past year. Our latest review is the 100-watt portable Solar Panel from FlexSolar. We tested this unit.
We dropped it many times during use, and it stood up to the durability aspect very well. This panel is flexible, so it does give some when mishandled. We used it in sunny, rainy, cloudy, and partly sunny weather, and its charging ability is second to none.
The FLEXSOLAR C120W Foldable Solar Panel can power all of your devices. The monocrystalline solar cells are simple to use, long-lasting, and portable, and the charger helps charge most electronics.
This unit can also charge your car battery, albeit slowly, but it will do the job in a pinch.
Of the other units we have reviewed, this is the only one with the correct cables to charge an automobile-type battery.
The 100W foldable solar panel is ideal for longer trips when you need more power without sacrificing portability. It was designed for mobile camps and off-grid adventures.
Thanks to the foldable two-panel design, it is simple to unfold to gather power and fold with handles to carry away.
The 100W solar panel’s integrated USB A (regular USB), USB QC3.0 (fast charging), USB C (PD 60W), 20-28V 100W DC port, 10-in-1 DC interchangeable connectors, alligator clips, and DC cable make it versatile for charging all DC electronics, portable power stations, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and anything else that can be connected and needs charging.
It can withstand most weather conditions, is waterproof and dustproof, and has an IP65 rating. An IP65-rated enclosure protects against low-pressure water jets from any direction, condensation, and water spray.
It’s suitable for most outdoor enclosures that won’t encounter extreme weather such as flooding.
Other solar panels we have used were not waterproof. Their manual suggests not using it in the rain. However, there is not as much charging going on in rainy weather as when it’s sunny; being unable to leave the solar panel in the weather is a pain.
It means you can’t forget it when it’s on your RV roof. It’s one of the best places to achieve the best charging results when camping, and it’s out of the eyesight of other campers.
A portable solar panel can power several 12V batteries. But if you need more power, it’s chainable; in other words, you can add additional solar panels for quicker and more charging power.
For 12-volt batteries used in automobiles, boats, ships, trailers, and recreational vehicles (AGM, LiFePo4, lead-acid, gel, lithium, and deep cycle batteries), 100W monocrystalline solar cells with up to 24% efficiency are available.
With the junction box and accessories, it weighs only 11.2 lbs (5.1 kg) and is compact at 27.1 x 24.1 x 1.4 inches (when folded). Thanks to its foldable design and handles, it is portable and lightweight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great panel!

“We like this panel! We got this briefcase to replace our plain panel without breaking the bank. It seems to be a less expensive yet still high-quality option.
The handles, corner protectors, and stand are must-haves. They make setting up around a campsite so much easier. Before, trees always seemed to be in the way, but we can place them wherever we want now.
You also have to angle any panel during sunrise or sunset to get better power, so now there’s no more leaning against rocks or the side of the van. This weekend, in decent sun, our solar battery readout was 91W. I imagine that in ideal conditions/angles, we could have gotten it up to the advertised 100W.
It does seem a little heavy, but I’m a girl and have managed to get it out and set it up by myself a couple of times. I wish we had gotten one of these from the start.”

“This is a great plug-and-play solar panel! It easily charges all my small devices and is slim enough to be stored on the side of the car. The handle is sturdy and allows for easy movement. Hooks make it easy to tie off and suspend from tents.
A minor feature that I find incredibly friendly is the indicator light (it glows red) that turns on when the panel gets enough sunlight. Its design hand-holds the user.”
Are Flexible Solar Panels Worth It?
Flexible solar panels provide a portable and environmentally friendly source of electricity, which is particularly valuable in remote or off-grid locations.
Their innovative design allows them to be installed on various surfaces, including curved or vertical ones, expanding the possibilities for solar energy generation.
This flexibility and ease of installation make them a worthwhile investment for those seeking an adaptable and sustainable energy solution.
Therefore, considering their benefits and potential applications, flexible solar panels seem worth the investment.
How Long do Foldable Solar Panels Last?
On average, foldable solar panels are built to last approximately 25 years, comparable to conventional, stationary solar panels.
However, as with electronic devices, they are subject to natural degradation over time. This means that while they remain functional for an extended period, their overall efficiency and power output might gradually decrease over the years.
Hence, considering foldable solar panels, it’s essential to factor in their lifespan and gradual wear and tear.
Can Flexible Solar Panels Overheat?
Despite their convenience and adaptability, flexible solar panels have a potential downside. Due to their design, these panels often have limited space to disperse heat, particularly when mounted on a roof.
This confined setup can lead to overheating, damaging the solar cells, and ultimately shortening the system’s lifespan.
Hence, while flexible solar panels offer numerous advantages, it is also crucial to consider the potential for overheating and find ways to mitigate this issue.
Final Words
In conclusion, the FLEXSOLAR C100W Foldable Solar Panel Review underscores the product’s impressive features, making it a valuable addition for anyone looking for a reliable renewable energy source.
The panel boasts an incredibly high conversion efficiency of up to 23.5%, ensuring maximum energy production. Its foldable design enhances portability, making it perfect for outdoor adventures or emergencies.
The robust construction, featuring weather-resistant and water-resistant materials, guarantees durability even under harsh conditions. Its compatibility with USB and DC ports allows for convenient charging of various devices.
The user-friendly setup, guided by an included manual, simplifies the installation process, making it easy even for non-tech-savvy users. The panel’s optimum power generation also ensures efficient energy production.
Lastly, its versatility is commendable; whether you need it for outdoor activities or emergencies, the FLEXSOLAR C100W Foldable Solar Panel is dependable.
